Just watched a video of Maindee big as it is today. It looks like a burned out shell. Decrepit and bleak. It’s awful to watch as I spent many an hour there in my childhood. Just wish something could be done about it but I guess there is no money available or a developer would have sorted it. Just awful.

IIRC after they closed, the baths were bought at auction by a man who wanted the house that was part of the lot. He didn't want the baths and had no idea what to do with it. It does seem irresponsible of the Council not to have taken more interest in the fate of what was an important public asset at one time.
