Like most people, I have countless direct debits and standing orders leaving my account every month, many of them of questionable value. My trust subs are the one that I begrudge the least because in exchange I know that it helps to keep Newport County fan-owned so we are never again at the mercy of a vainglorious owner, asset-stripper or charlatan.

I know in these straitened times not everyone can spare a fiver or more a month - but for those who can, I implore you to do so. It’s our club, let’s keep it that way.
