That statement was a hostage to fortune, hopefully he will learn to stop doing that. We aren't exactly at the top of the list of clubs that the kind of players we need will jump at the chance of joining. My inkling is that JR is finding out just how difficult it is to attract the right calibre of player. My hope is that Telford making a decision will give him the freedom to push the boat out far enough to do just that. Fingers crossed and eyes peeled for movement in the next couple of weeks.

Walsall have just signed Andy Williams, a striker who will be 36 in August. He was released by Cheltenham. Their fans think that Kevin Ellison will be turning up at Walsall next.

If he signs Ellison Flynn has brought in some serious experience....will their bodies last the season ??

I can see why Flynn picked up Williams with Conor Wilkinson out for most of the season.

Concerning Peter Clarke, maybe Flynny's not so daft. Clarke played in all of every league game for Tranmere in the past two seasons and turned down a player/coach contract because he wants to continue playing regular football. I guess a manager gets to appreciate that sort of reliability in a player. Clarke could give Flynn a good season next year.

Ellison looks after himself, he’ll be fine he was underused last year and Clarke is always a nuisance, good signings.

Clarke is still a heck of a player, but Flynn has so much previous for bringing in players who are just good to have around - Crofts, Ledley, Ellison's second year.

About time Wilfried Bony showed up again for his annual photo opportunity.

Clarke was outstanding for Tranmere in the away game this year. Did all his defensive duties then when they were struggling up front later in the game he moved up and was a much more effective than their regular strikers.

Street gave Clarke a difficult game on Street’s debut at Rodney Parade. Probably Street’s best game for us.

Flynny has also signed Peter Clarke aged 40.He tends to go for journeymen,Maynard one example.It appears that JR favours younger less experienced players with an eye on the future with stability in the squad.Flynny would bring in 12 players every summer then,another half dozen in the January window,every year,Flynny used 12 loan players in one season and regularly got through 40 players in a season..Hopefully,this won’t happen with JR,who knows.

Don't forget MF wanted Harry Smith as well. A classic Flynny signing! Surprised he didn't go in for Zanzala.
