You’re spot on: there is a book called, ‘The Rochdale Division’ by Chris Fitzgerald. The synopsis is:-

‘Rochdale AFC had occupied the fourth tier of English football for so long that the division was unofficially named after them. In 2006, manager Keith Hill took charge and transformed the unfashionable, cash-strapped club into a side known for flowing football and overachievement.’

It’s sad to see how things are going for them.

I think a manager capable of organising a defence may have been able to do something for them. They just seem to concede more than they score 😂 A bit of a drawback in football, I must admit! A couple of astute signings could have altered that problem.
