Well done Geoff, your effort deserves support!
I have a distant historic claim to coining the term “Exiles Grandstand “ back in Conference South days, the forum was a much more jovial and amicable place back then.
Then it was commentary only and one joined in with others commenting through the match. Now it is available to watch on I-follow, inevitably the goal flash comes up on the Grandstand before I’ve seen it on the screen so I don’t look at it during the game.
After a wonderful 4-0 result on Saturday I can only see us repeating it again tomorrow night! My pound says we can do it!

Well done Phil getting one over on the bookies, probably won't get such good odds now.

The conference south, the days when everyone agreed that the objective was getting back to the football league, and anger was purely directed at Alun Evans. The days when no one Internet connected knew the score until ringing the 'hotline' for Wallace Brown to give a brief description of the match for your quid. The days when fans bought season tickets knowing they would only be able to watch a few home games, to ballance to fact that they would attend away games closer to them, and wanted to make sure they were still funding County more than the opposition. The days of Alex Jones pages of rants, and Rob Santwis' rumours. Off to the King after the game, and eventually bar Amber.
Then to the Conference and Rodney Parade, where the pitch became the enemy. Beating Luton in their lowest league ever, with a young Oli Mc Burnie on loan from Swansea scoring a hattrick. Then Luton trying to scupper Lotto Les buying Christian Jolley. They didn't, and he scored in the playoff final, taking us back to the football league.
Luton may be back in the top division, but that's where they started.............

Glad to see this posted and hope it continues. I still think this site has the history and user base that a new site lacks. Money has gone in to covering the overheads so why not now get back behind it

As for the match I’m probably more worried about CBR than Mickey. Their fans seem unhappy with the defence, seems they go 3 at the back and can be vulnerable. Their CM is apparently one to watch so perhaps if we can stifle him, and get some shots off, we might have a chance. Us getting the first goal will matter a lot against their forwards.

Those were the days Phil. When we talked about biscuits and brooms. Well done for coming up with "Exiles Grandstand". I still think it's a good vehicle for discussion before and after the game, but not so much during the game. Can anyone remember the website name for the messageboard before it became www.weareexiles.net?

I can still remember using a red phone box to ring the hotline for some reason.

I think this is what’s known in modern parlance as a ‘humble brag’. Knowing the position of the club I bought a season ticket, but being an exile I’ve little hope of seeing any more than half the games. It also helps with missing the MK Dons game as I’ve paid for it but don’t have to subject myself to franchise football.
