Once again we are in the dark regarding the receipt and/or progress of bids.
I think an all pervading sadness will be the legacy of the Trust’s failure to those members who care, many of whom have been there from the start.
The board can’t say they weren’t warned. I was one small voice of a sizeable chorus that was begging for more transparency over the years, we were ignored.
They only spoke to us when they wanted to impart something or wanted something - never out of common courtesy or good communication. If we’d known something was wrong maybe we could have helped. We’ll never know,
They didn’t listen then and they’re not listening now.

Fellow 70's folk rocker I see. I'll call you Vincent and you can call me Hal.

Perhaps they never will
Re: Sadness
5Communication is definitely an issue as it is in any relationship - like with any big news - we just want to know even if there is nothing substantive to know [yet].
Re: Sadness
8To be fair, the silence has been broken, we have had the County Lottery results communicated today.
Re: Sadness
9No need to thank me, I got it from the Carlisle accounts

The serious point being that anxiety and depression go hand in hand, and a little help goes an enormous way.
Re: Sadness
10I respect all the Board for stepping up alongside full time jobs and family commitments but it is foolhardy to do this without understanding the work involved the need importantly to always bring the fans with you.
I know that some do / did far better in their working environment- we need communication but more importantly we need full time executive direction and management.
It occurs to me that for all our benefit the current player fund could provide as much / more benefit as the chief executive fund with Trust Members funding a CEO to sort this mess out.

11Isn't that the point of outside investment, in so much as hopefully it will bring with it management skills that don't come via a Trust director election?County ranger wrote: September 7th, 2023, 8:53 pm I respect all the Board for stepping up alongside full time jobs and family commitments but it is foolhardy to do this without understanding the work involved the need importantly to always bring the fans with you.

Re: Sadness
12There's a statement on the club website. Provisional date for Trust meeting September 28th, bid info to be put to Trust members.
You need to be a member by September 11th to vote.

Re: Sadness
13Unfortunately the statement doesn't make it clear whether the two prospective investors groups are negotiating separately or together. It does imply that if separately the Board will choose their preferred bidder to present to fans for a vote without presenting details of either bid in advance.Melling's equaliser wrote: September 8th, 2023, 10:35 am There's a statement on the club website. Re: Sadness
14I’d hope that if there are competing bids that members have an option as to which they prefer. Otherwise the board are able to pick which one suits them personally. Isn’t that so?

15That is exactly so.lowandhard wrote: September 8th, 2023, 10:49 am I’d hope that if there are competing bids that members have an option as to which they prefer. Otherwise the board are able to pick which one suits them personally. Isn’t that so?
It would have been good for the process to have been published followed by the Invitation To Tender.
Not doing so breeds suspicion for no good reason.
However, I would not expect a losing bidder to remain silent if they feel aggrieved.
EDIT I would encourage bidders to join the Trust now in order to be able to attend the meeting if they lose out in the bid process.
