Yes, it does seem to be a very acute case of that doesn’t it? I’ve never seen such an outburst on here that we can all witness above. It proves to me that on this forum it now seems almost anything goes. It’s beginning to make Luton’s “ outlaws “ forum look like a Sunday School outing. One or more of the abusers appear to be running scared to resort to such abuse.
Stop posting things that you know that you can't substantiate because they are lies, and stop starting threads that encourage others to follow your example.

We have always seen Stan go into meltdown when it is proved he is lying, and then he just moves to something completely irrelevant to try to take the moral high ground. But he can't, can he,because everyone has witnessed it so many times. We know exactly what is going to happen, and we know how it ends.

Then we get the disciples moping his brow, and pretending it doesn’t matter, while starting up another thread to go around the same cycle again and again....................

I think it's a perfectly accurate and truthful observation.
Me too
So it's open season on the Everett Brothers too now, is it?

Six long years we spent in Wetherspoon, learning to dance to Halligan's tune."

No, I don’t think that’s the case, I’m sure they’re both honourable men. It’s just that members want to know as much as possible before voting. It’s not personal and neither is it complicated.

The words of songs are written by lyricists. If memory serves one Tony Pastor. No idea who composed the tune, possibly that famous composer Trad. Got that? Words by lyricist, tune by composer. Good.

All doesn't really rhyme with tune does it? Maybe you should consider spending s little less time in Wetherspoons.

I still reckon this post (below) is personal, and made by someone who is quite possibly not a trust member and has no vote in this matter.......

,.........I'm not to happy about Colin Everett being part of the proceedings. Am I right in saying that Michael Everett still part of the Board.

Before calling it nonsense, look back in this thread. Page 3, a post by Torquay Exile. I criticised it and then, on this page, copied and pasted in response to North London Exile's comment. Did you think we both made it up?

So why didn't NLE direct his comments to Torquay Exile? No one else mentioned the Everett brothers that I've seen? I've got no problem with the Everett brothers, transparency and communication from the board for many years I certainly do!

Obviously that's a question I can't answer.Maybe he had some time away from reading the board and then read through the back pages. If I wish to take issue with a post, I do try to use the quote button or post a reply directly after the one I'm referring to .........like this one.

Edit: One ore two posters did seem to support TE's comment, which maybe explains the 'open season' reference.

It seems to me at least, that not only are there people happy with undermining the directors, but also the expertise that they bring in.

We have seen people try to undermine Nick Igoe, the ex Swansea commercial director, Colin Everett, even indirecly, the chairman of the EFL league two Committee, who published lots of detail on league two in his club accounts...........

Disregarding their individual expertise to keep peddling the line that the director's shouldn't have spent money that they have built up.............

They completely ignore what is communicated in the meeting's, and the expert analysis, even though it has not been delivered by trust directors. Then to add insult to injury, pretend that the reason is lack of communication..........

Club News

Newport County AFC's Audited Accounts
30 March 2022

Image

The audited accounts for the year ended 30th June 2021 have now been completed and have been filed at Companies House.

In spite of the Covid restrictions which created significant challenges during the year, we are pleased to confirm that a net profit of £25,988 has been achieved. This is the fourth consecutive year that a profit has been reported. The net assets of the club have, as a result increased to £837,859.

A healthy cash balance has been maintained whilst ensuring that financial obligations have been met.

The club employed 102 paid members of staff across all areas (including First Team players and staff, Academy Scholars and Coaches, both full and part time and also Club Administration staff). In addition we have 10 directors who continue to operate on an unpaid voluntary basis. Volunteers, in general, continue to pay a key role in the operations of the Club.

The following executive summary has been included as part of the directors’ report within the filed accounts:

The financial statements relate to the 2020/21 EFL league season which continued to be impacted by Government restrictions in place as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In view of the uncertainty, the club has continued to apply a robust approach to managing its finances with all appropriate controls in place. This approach has ensured that the club navigated its way through the pandemic and maintained a reasonable financial position.
The initial challenge came from the Government decision, made at the start of the season, that all fixtures were to be played “behind closed doors” until further notice.
The Club immediately adopted a policy in relation to season ticket sales where purchasers could enjoy access to the EFL iFollow system in the event that they were unable to attend matches in person.
As a result, the club was able to maintain a good level of season ticket sales which in conjunction with the support of sponsors and advertisers meant a reasonable level of match related revenue. The Club continued to take advantage of all available Government support which included Job Retention Scheme, Welsh Government and Local Council initiatives.
Support from the Football Authorities, both EFL and Premier League, has been vital in the Club maintaining its strong financial base and the Board ensured it continued to meet all contractual obligations.
At the start of the 20/21 season the EFL introduced a system of Salary and Squad Caps which created new challenges which required careful management and the Club continued to achieve success on the pitch by reaching the EFL League 2 play-offs.
The semi-finals and final of these were given dispensation to be played in front of minimal crowds with a considerable level of restrictions. The financial benefit of reaching the play-offs was therefore severely impacted.
Overall, the performance remains very satisfactory and the support the club has received throughout the year from sponsors, partners, Football Authorities, Welsh Government, UK Government, Newport Council, and local politicians is very much appreciated.
The Board would like to acknowledge the overwhelming support and understanding it has received from its supporters during a difficult period for all concerned. This has been absolutely crucial in meeting all of the challenges that the Club faced.

No lack of communication there.
Read it.

The people who had charge of your money said in June 2022 you had assets of £837,859. In May 2023 they said you were in debt and the club structure was unsustainable.

All I want to know is where did it go? And if the answer is 'it was never there' I would like to know why I was misled.

And if anyone thinks a bunch of people brave enough to call me a grass, or a liar, or a tw@t, but lacking the courage to identify themselves are going to stop me, they would be mistaken.
