Barnet in 2nd Round at Home
1A decent draw that. At home and against a national league side, albeit a very good NL side.
Are you 12? We're in League Two in the EFL. They're in the National League which is a league below us. Regardless of their form I think they might just about be bothered about playing us at home. I imagine it'll be close too but to suggest they'd be slight favourites at the bookies is beyond mental.rncfc wrote: November 5th, 2023, 3:16 pm Let's be honest, they aren't going to be too bothered about coming here with the form they're in.

Nope, not that game.excessbee wrote: November 5th, 2023, 5:31 pm Was that when Tom Owen-Evans scored his first ever goal, then it was wiped off the records?
Yes, Barnet led 1-0, Akinde scoring in the first minute.Kevinmoorefellover wrote: November 5th, 2023, 5:29 pm Was it a game against Barnet a few seasons ago that got called off at half-time?
I'm not so sure. Only currently 7 places between us in the Football pyramid. Could be even less come the 2nd round.Chepstow'sFine wrote: November 5th, 2023, 6:19 pmAre you 12? With you on this Stan. We'll obviously be professional about any opposition we play but let's not be too reverential to any NL club. However, Barnet have Chesterfield away this weekend and if they turn them over then I take it all back...we're doomed.Stan A. The facts are that we are one game away from a potentially hugely lucrative 3rd Round Tie. We have been drawn at home to a team in a lower league. Quite right we should respect Barnet, quite right that we should acknowledge that Barnet will not be a pushover. However we should also acknowledge that it is a very good draw for us. Respect of any opposition is right. Fear is defeating. There has been for the nearly 60 years I have followed Newport County far too much fear.
