32Is there a Freudian slip when GC reflects on his own position?

34That’s my take too upon reflection. I’m proud of what we’ve done this season. It’s sad to see us in the state we’re in right now but 2 more games and we can start to sort this mess out.Stan A. Einstein wrote: April 13th, 2024, 6:13 pm I see over 4,500 turned up for a meaningless friendly to watch a team that couldn't beat a carpet.
It makes me wonder just what type of attendance County could get if we were to actually be successful.

38Totally agree, the whole point of shepherding them inside is to prevent the cross and to tackle them on their possibly weaker foot, we seem to use it to signpost the opposition to a better position to score against us, unbelievable. Lately only one or two proper footballers in the opposition guarantees us being ripped to shreds, as happened v Crawley.Kevinmoorefellover wrote: April 13th, 2024, 10:36 pm We seem to have got into a habit of escorting opposition forwards across our goal area until they’re in a position to put it past the keeper. It’s happened against Crawley, Accrington and Tranmere and it’s not good enough.

39So, do you think that's a tactics problem or an application problem?lowandhard wrote: April 14th, 2024, 12:05 pmTotally agree, the whole point of shepherding them inside is to prevent the cross and to tackle them on their possibly weaker foot, we seem to use it to signpost the opposition to a better position to score against us, unbelievable. 41Inexperience or lack of firm leadership or ownership at the back (or both)? Yesterday I wanted to see Jameson put his foot in to let the opposition know he was there and give them something to think about, but he seems more of a jockeying centre back.Chris Davis wrote: April 14th, 2024, 12:28 pmSo, do you think that's a tactics problem or an application problem?lowandhard wrote: April 14th, 2024, 12:05 pmTotally agree, the whole point of shepherding them inside is to prevent the cross and to tackle them on their possibly weaker foot, we seem to use it to signpost the opposition to a better position to score against us, unbelievable. Re: Grandstand: Newport County A.F.C versus Tranmere Rovers F.C.
42What I saw was when their player was clearly teeing himself up for a shot, the centre backs stood back and watched him rather than advance on him.
Re: Grandstand: Newport County A.F.C versus Tranmere Rovers F.C.
43Application imho, if you show ‘em inside you don’t let ‘em have the chance of a shot on goal, must tackle or block them.Chris Davis wrote: April 14th, 2024, 12:28 pmSo, do you think that's a tactics problem or an application problem?lowandhard wrote: April 14th, 2024, 12:05 pmTotally agree, the whole point of shepherding them inside is to prevent the cross and to tackle them on their possibly weaker foot, we seem to use it to signpost the opposition to a better position to score against us, unbelievable. 44Exactly. I wonder how many adults went to the game and took their kids who otherwise might not have gone but for 'kids for a quid'.Bangitintrnet wrote: April 14th, 2024, 11:24 am

45Kids should always be for a quid (or free). Fair point though.Bangitintrnet wrote: April 14th, 2024, 11:24 amIt was kids for a quid Saturday, which boosted the attendance.Chepstow'sFine wrote: April 14th, 2024, 8:17 amThat’s my take too upon reflection.
